Property Accountant | Temp-to-hire
Location: Tualatin, OR
Salary: $27-$29/hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support the financial operations of a growing real estate portfolio in the Tualatin area. This role is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and ensuring accuracy across multiple entities and properties. Candidates without direct property accounting experience will be considered if they bring strong multi-entity accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned properties and/or entities
- Prepare monthly financial statements, variance reports, and supporting schedules
- Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts across multiple entities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Track and record rent payments, tenant activity, and property-level expenses
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Support month-end and year-end close procedures
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Partner with property managers and internal teams to resolve financial discrepancies
Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting experience; property accounting experience is a plus but not required
- Must have experience handling multi-entity or multi-company accounting
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles (GAAP preferred)
- Experience with accounting software (Yardi, AppFolio, or similar is a plus, not required)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs preferred)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple sets of books and deadlines simultaneously
- Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
